Measured area first, fabricator facts separate
Homeowner measurements help prepare for a quote. They do not determine usable slabs, seams, support or final fabrication.
STEP 1 · MEASURE
Countertop sections
Measure actual finished length and depth for each non-overlapping rectangle. Include only an overhang you actually measured. Do not subtract a sink opening from area; the fabricator decides whether it changes the billed quantity.
Edge length is entered explicitly; no perimeter or edge profile is assumed.
STEP 2 · PLAN ORDER
Visible planning allowance
Default 0%. This changes your planning area, but it does not establish slab count, billable area or a material order.
STEP 3 · PRODUCT & FABRICATOR
Record the actual pricing basis
Material names do not determine how a fabricator sells or bills. A billable area may differ from your measured or planning area.
Slab layout and yield remain for the fabricator. A fixed quote is not a slab-count calculation.
STEP 4 · KNOWN COSTS
Resolve each charge separately
Ask what the material rate includes before recording a separate charge. Unknown is not $0.00.

What changes the answer?
Actual section dimensions determine measured area. Only your chosen allowance changes planning area. A supplier-confirmed billable area and pricing basis determine material cost; separately confirmed charges determine a complete modeled total. A sink/cooktop opening does not automatically reduce billable area.
This planner does not select structural support, cabinet suitability, seam placement, slab layout, cutout design, backsplash construction, material suitability or code compliance.
